JAYA BACHCHAN IN A PLAY OF EMOTIONS

Theatre is one of the oldest forms of entertainment that has produced many a famous name on the silver screen. Though various forms of entertainment is available at the push of a button a theatre production is all consuming, ... a real test of histrionics and talent, a blend of technicalities, human emotions and bonding. Jaya Bachchan the celebrated actress of high caliber and Member of Parliament from India, the wife of the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and mother of Abhishek is all set to enthrall Dubai lovers of theatre with her play titled 'Dr Mukta' on January 13th 2005 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The show is being brought to Dubai by Talent Brokers.

Managing Director of The Talent Brokers Events, Padma Coram said, "We are delighted that Jaya has found time in her hectic schedule to premier this play in Dubai next month. Theatre lovers are starved of high quality productions, so we are expecting a great interest from the public.

A powerfully dramatic play in nature, it was first staged in India and received critical acclaim. After their performance in Dubai, the play travels to the USA for an eight week run, before heading to Europe.

Jaya Bachchan plays Dr Mukta, a mother in a family faced with real life situations. Directed by renowned film director, Ramesh Talwar, the plot of 'Dr Mukta' revolves around a sense of solace that can be derived by deceiving and being deceived. The protagonist exudes love and courage to help her family out of a losing battle of life's contradictions. The cast also includes other well known theatre personalities and is directed by Ramesh Talwar who also acts in the play as Devidutt, Dr Mukta's husband. Jaya as Mukta handles all the tensions in the family with great fortitude and the final outcome of the play which dwells on relationships is bound to make the audience leave with tears in their eyes and a glow in the heart.

Jaya has the ability to churn out finely tuned performances with great ease and her roles in Koshish, Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Kora Kagaz, Silsila, and the recent ones like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho, have demonstrated her prowess before the camera and she is truly an inspiration to young actors.
